Killara Feedlot, situated at Quirindi, NSW has bought steers and heifers from the Jeogla and Wallamumbi sales for some years now. This feedback is from recent steers purchased at the 2009 sales, which were fed for 140 days and the heifers were fed for 70 days. Peter Kearney, the livestock manager at Killara Feedlot for 8 years enjoys purchasing cattle from Jeogla and Wallamumbi Station because of:
  • the weaners having been drafted into weight, age, frame and type for ease of purchasing in long lines;
  • the favourable pen size numbers.
  • the nutritional needs of cattle coming into a feedyard having been managed correctly.
  • the good temperament of the cattle due to yard weaning and handling prior to sale.
